Below are a few points which clearly show what is new in our new kit, how is it different from the present used kit and how this gap will be filled after using MECHA Kit.

1. DRILLING WORKSTATION

MECHA Kit comes with a manual drilling jig which firstly introduces the concept of ‘jigs and fixtures’ to the students and then a manual drilling machine with a self tightening 3 jaw chuck, which is very easy for the student to operate and also drill & tap with precision and high accuracy. It can even be used for cutting external & internal threads on the extrusions as per the requirement.

2. SAWING WORKSTATION

MECHA Kit presents a cautiously designed ‘Sawing Jig’ keeping, the safety of young hands, in mind. This Jig comes with an inbuilt measurement system to measure the length of the extrusion to be cut and has got fixed clamps which provide a definite path for the saw to move, hence making it extremely safe for the students. It also has a cam-action clamp at the back which hold the material firmly while sawing.
The sawing workstation has an additional facility that allows the production offset saw-cuts on the end of the 10mm diameter tube which is specifically design for making hinged joints. This involves the use of L-shape jointing block which clamp on to the front of the sawing workstation.

3. SLOTTING JIG

It can be very useful in learning about making small slots between holes of perforated sheet. Its use also relates well with some part of automation where a number of slots have to be cut quickly.

4. INDUSTRY 4.0

MECHA Kit provides a library with the 3d models of the all the components in the Kit which can easily be operated in Tinker Cad or any 3D modeling software. Now this helps in increasing the imagination power of the students as firstly they design the model and the concept they are working on in the software and then work on making the same prototype. This provides them a clear and larger picture of the model they want to create.

5. HEAT FORGING JIG

This jig has been designed for bending perforated strips in 90 degree and for bending 4 mm dia rod. A spring loaded locating pin ensures the bend is equidistant between two holes. The jig features auto heater on-off operation for bending of strips. 4 mm dia rods can also be bent in this jig for making of handles or hooks.

6. KITRONIK BOARD

All in one Robotic Control Board compatible to run DC geared motor, DC motor, stepper motor and servo motor at a time. Dedicated pins connections are provided for ease of students.

7. UNIVERSAL CLAMP

The design of universal clamp is such that it facilitates several activities related to drill, making outside or inside thread, basic alignment techniques for holding of specimens. The clamp sits easily and firmly through a slot cut at its base. Student will find this very useful in skill development and vocational activities.
